Located in Rware Ward within Nyeri Town Constituency, the Field Marshal Muthoni Economic Stimulus Programme (ESP) Market is a modern trading facility developed to improve the environment for local businesses and traders.
Construction of the market began in May 2024 and was completed in November 2025 at a cost of KSh57 million.
The multi-storey facility replaced informal trading structures and features standard trading stalls, cold storage facilities for fresh produce, an ICT hub, a social hall and parking space for up to 50 vehicles.
The facility brings together trading, storage and community services in one location, providing traders with improved infrastructure while addressing some of the challenges associated with informal markets, including sanitation and limited access to essential facilities.
The market is expected to support local commerce in Rware Ward by providing traders with a more organized trading environment and residents with improved access to market services.
