Kitutu Masaba Member of Parliament and a key member of the Linda Mwananchi movement, Clive Ombane Gisairo, was involved in a road accident in Kikuyu near Nairobi on Monday evening, September 28, after a police vehicle reportedly rammed into his car from behind.
In a statement posted on his social media accounts on September 29, the lawmaker said he was traveling to Nairobi from his constituency when a speeding Isuzu D-Max hit his vehicle from behind.
“Yesterday night, as I was coming to Nairobi from my constituency, we were involved in an accident after being hit from behind by a speeding Isuzu D-Max (KDX961T) registered to Isuzu Kenya, leased to the Ministry of Interior,” the MP said.
Clive Ombane Recounts Moments Before Highway Crash
According to Gisairo, the impact caused significant damage to his vehicle, including the loss of its rear right tire.
“The pick-up lost control and rolled down the road shoulder, but my driver was able to safely bring our car to a safe stop despite having lost the rear right tire,” he said.
The legislator said he and his team escaped without serious injuries, apart from minor muscle strains sustained from the impact.

He further alleged that the occupants of the vehicle that hit them were removed from the scene before traffic police could complete the required procedures.
“I can confirm that I have reported the matter to the relative agencies and they are cooperating in the investigations and the ministry has identified the two persons in the car together with the other ministry officers who whisked them away,” he said.
Gisairo expressed confidence that action would be taken following the investigations.
The lawmaker thanked supporters for their concern, saying he and the occupants of his vehicle were safe.
His statement came after earlier reports indicated that he had been involved in a road accident near Kikuyu, with initial accounts suggesting that a government vehicle had hit his newly acquired Toyota Land Cruiser from behind.
Development Tour Before the Crash
Before the accident, Clive Ombane Gisairo had spent the better part of the day carrying out development and public engagement activities in Kitutu Masaba Constituency.
The lawmaker first joined local residents, education stakeholders and community leaders to commission two newly constructed classrooms at Ekerubo Comprehensive School in Kemera Center.
In a statement shared on his official social media pages, Gisairo said the project aimed to address growing demand for learning space following a sharp increase in student enrolment at the institution.
He noted that Ekerubo Comprehensive School has recorded significant growth in recent years, creating pressure on existing facilities and prompting the need for additional infrastructure to accommodate learners.
The MP described the classrooms as part of ongoing efforts to improve access to quality education in the constituency.

Later in the day, Gisairo met boda boda operators from Masaba North Sub-County at a consultative forum on challenges facing the sector and opportunities to strengthen its contribution to the local economy.
The MP acknowledged the role played by boda boda operators in connecting communities, facilitating movement of people and goods and creating employment opportunities for hundreds of young people across the constituency.
He said the discussions formed part of wider engagements with key stakeholder groups aimed at improving livelihoods and promoting economic growth.
Gisairo also recalled a similar meeting held with riders from Manga Sub-County in May, saying his office remained committed to working closely with operators to address issues affecting the sector.
Despite being elected on an Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) ticket in the 2022 General Election, Clive Ombane Gisairo has recently emerged as one of the prominent faces of the Linda Mwananchi Movement.
Gisairo has openly declared support for Matiang’i ahead of the 2027 presidential race, a position that has strengthened his profile within opposition politics in the Gusii region.
