Popular political commentator and newspaper columnist Gabriel Oguda has broken his silence and explained his Twitter (X) break after since abduction.
Through a Facebook post ,Oguda confirmed that he was back, adding that his abductors had “messed” with his X account while he was away.
The vocal critic of President William Ruto’s government recalled how he was dumped in the cells of Kajiado police station, promising to narrate the ordeal in his column.
“Tell the people on Twitter that I’ve sent my greetings. They messed up with my X account but they’re about to discover that God is not Kamau,” lamented Oguda.
“For those asking for tales from my abduction, rest easy knowing I always got your back. My column in tomorrow’s Saturday Nation takes you straight to the inside of my radioactive cell at Kajiado Police Station,” recalled Oguda.
Gabriel Oguda Breaks Silence
Oguda’s absence on X sparked different emotions among his followers as they wondered whether he was okay.
A user by the name Bella showed her concern for the popular social media personality stating that he had not been active on the platform since his release.
“Is Gabriel Oguda okay? He has not tweeted since his release,” she enquired.
Others directed his followers to his Facebook account as the confirmed that his account had been messed up.

“Said his account was compromised. Search him on Facebook,” a user by the name Karobo directed.
Previously, Oguda’s brother Zachary Ogunda posted a post online that he newspaper columnist was taken away from his house by men believed to be police.
“I can confirm that my brother has been taken by unknown gunmen from his house 5 minutes ago,” Zachary posted. He was however released amid the tension and pressure posed by the anti-tax protests.
Abduction cases have been experienced in the country with those who have been seen to be vocal on the anti-finance bill protests falling victims.
Similarly, Osama Otero, who has been hosting popular X Spaces opposing the Finance Bill 2024 was also reportedly abducted by unknown people.
Other victims who were suspected to have been abducted include Drey Mwangi, TemperCR7, Harriet, Franje, Worldsmith and Hilla254.

However, some protesters were released after public uproar as the Law Society of Kenya asked for the release of those who had been abducted illegally.
