“Where is Ken Nderitu? He is over 35 years old now. He asked Rigathi to teach him how to run the family business, but he is nowhere to support his case,” Alai posted.
In his response, Ken Nderitu stated, “I’m right here. My uncle has taught me a lot about business, the estate of my late father has been handled in a way he would have been satisfied with.”
“So kindly stop using my family’s loss and bereavement as a means to make relevant or propagate your fledgling political career,” he added.
Gachagua Urges MPs to Respect the Dead
DP Gachagua previously condemned his political detractors for involving his late brother’s will in the impeachment motion against him.
“Those properties were constructed and operational when my brother was alive. I ask for forgiveness from my late brother for having to disclose your will publicly to defend myself,” Gachagua remarked.
“How unfair and cruel is it to attack a deceased person, a man who worked tirelessly for his family, purchasing land and constructing properties to secure a legacy for his children and siblings?”
Kibwezi Member of Parliament Mwengi Mutuse expressed that the Deputy President was simply shielding himself from the accusations by citing his involvement as an administrator of Nderitu Gachagua’s estate.
“It’s easy to hide with the dead because the dead can’t come to give evidence. We have documents including the joint will of the executors of estate. The DP hasn’t told Kenyans that he bought the properties through coercion,” he said.

Orengo Accuses Deputy President for Forcefully Taking His Brother’s Wealth
Similarly, Senior Counsel and Siaya Governor James Orengo on Wednesday October 16 while appearing before the Senate accused the Deputy President of irregularly obtaining funds from his late brother’s accounts.
He expressed doubts about how Gachagua executed his brother’s will, which has become a focal point in the impeachment case.
During the impeachment hearing, Orengo claimed that the Deputy President “raided” his brother’s accounts and used the proceeds to acquire prime properties.
Orengo pointed out that Gachagua began withdrawing funds from the late Nderitu’s accounts on the very day his brother died. He detailed that Gachagua traveled to London, where Nderitu was receiving specialized treatment, on February 16, 2017.
The Siaya Governor further asserted that the following day, DP Gachagua got his brother to sign the will.

Barely a week later, on February 24, 2017, when Nderitu Gachagua passed away, Orengo claims Gachagua had already started withdrawing money from his late brother’s accounts.
“He went to a hospital in London where his brother was admitted in ICU. When he arrived the next day, he persuaded his brother to execute a will… that was on February 17, 2017. There is no evidence that he spoke with the doctors or physicians caring for his brother during that trip. After that visit, he went away,” Orengo stated.
“The way his brother’s accounts were accessed continued up to the acquisition of Olive Gardens through a proxy. He also bought properties in Nyeri, including the Outspan and Treetops hotels. Evidence will show that he was misappropriating funds that rightfully belonged to his late brother’s estate to acquire these properties.”
He added, “If that is not a legal offense, then these transactions represent proceeds of crime committed by the Deputy President to acquire property. We assert that the acquisition of these properties stemmed from criminal conduct.”
