Goons who infiltrated protestors in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD) have attempted to break into KCB Bank.
The KCB Bank is located at the junction of Kimathi Street and Kenyatta Avenue and housed inside Kimathi House.
According to a video recording shared online by X user Reagan, the group of men joined protests held in the city against the untimely death of X influencer Albert Ojwang.
The group caused chaos outside the premises, throwing stones at the building and shattering glass and windows.
Additionally, the video footage shows the group trying to break open the padlock securing the gates to the building, which also houses several electronics and cosmetics shops, among other businesses.
Sarova Stanley Hotel, which sits directly across the street, remained untouched during the incident.
Police officers at the scene did not make any attempt to stop them.

Vehicles Set on Fire by Goons
Earlier, a separate group of goons set vehicles on fire, burning them to ashes in CBD during the demonstrations.
The unrest, which began around 11 AM, saw demonstrators gather along Harambee Avenue, chanting slogans and carrying placards calling for accountability for the death of Ojwang while in police custody.
Police responded by firing tear gas, forcing some business owners to shut down for safety.
Demonstrators are also calling for the resignation of Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat.
The protests, largely led by youth, coincided with Treasury Cabinet Secretary John Mbadi’s presentation of the 2025/2026 Budget at the National Assembly.

The Death of Albert Ojwang
Albert Ojwang died while in police custody on Sunday, June 8.
According to a submission from Police Inspector General Douglas Kanja on Wednesday, June 11, Ojwang was arrested on June 7 in Homa Bay County after being mentioned by another suspect, Kevin Moinde.
While appearing before the Senate, Kanja explained that Moinde was first arrested in Kisii County for posting defamatory content about Deputy Inspector General Eliud Lagat on X.
Later, he was taken to DCI headquarters, where he revealed the names of four others allegedly involved, including Albert Ojwang, Dorcas Mawia, Peter Mbugua, and Douglas Marigiri.
Ojwang was later arrested in Homa Bay on June 7 and transported to Nairobi by DCI officers. The team made a stop in Narok, where Ojwang had a soda, water, and a biscuit, his last meal before his death.
They arrived at Central Police Station at 9:17 PM, and Ojwang called his wife minutes later to confirm his arrival. By the next morning, he was found unconscious in his cell and was declared dead on arrival at Mbagathi Hospital.
