Govt Employee Abducted by Gunmen as Wife Watches

The family also noted that Osman was abducted outside Sarit Centre. 

Osman Khalif Abdi, a Nairobi City County government liaison officer was abducted by gunmen on Friday, November 10.

Speaking to the press on Sunday, November 12, the family of the government employee pleaded for help adding that they were yet to receive any news about their kin. 

In addition, they revealed that Osman was abducted by unknown men and forced into a double cabin vehicle. 

Notably, the missing man was in the company of his wife when the incident occurred leaving her watching helplessly.

“We have spent the whole of Saturday and Sunday looking for our brother who is an employee of the county government.

“We are pleading with the government to help us find him because the family is devastated. The wife is in shock and cannot even express herself,” Yassin Khalif Abdi, Osman’s brother stated.

Details of Osman’s Abduction by Gunmen

The family also noted that Osman was abducted outside Sarit Centre. 

Further, the family lawyer Wanyanga Mark detailed that Osman was abducted by five assailants who he stated were all armed.

At the same time, he revealed that before leaving with the government employee, the men manhandled and harassed the wife who watched helplessly as her husband was taken away.

Also, Wanyanga stated that Osman’s vehicle was taken to the police station, however, the officers took too long to handle the case.

“His car was at Parklands Police Station, but the booking was made very late, and we were not given any reason why,” the lawyer said

“The owner of that motor vehicle was taken by five assailants who were armed to the teeth. In the process of abducting Osman, they manhandled and harassed the Wife,” he added. 

Prior to his role in the Nairobi County Government, Osman served as a South C member of County Assembly between 2017 and 2022. 

Prior Case of Missing Government Employee

Earlier in June 2023, former National Treasury official Tom Osinde was reported missing after embarking on a trip from Nakuru to Kisii.

While addressing the press on June 24, the family stated that his car was recovered vandalized and abandoned in Kilgoris, Transmara West.

Unfortunately, on June 29, Osinde’s body was recovered in River Kuja, Migori County after a search that lasted more than a week.
