The government has designated 92 new police stations across the country, marking an expansion of Kenya’s policing infrastructure.
The move, published under Gazette Notice No. 14272 and signed by Inspector General of Police Douglas Kanja on September 8, 2025, takes effect immediately under the National Police Service Act (Cap. 84).
According to the notice, the new stations, spread across all regions, are aimed at improving law enforcement coverage, reducing response times, and enhancing public safety.
They include facilities in border areas, transport hubs, airports, and rail stations, as well as in rural and urban counties.
“The establishments designated in the schedule are hereby recognized as Police Stations for the purpose of the Act,” read the Gazette notice.

The newly gazetted stations stretch from Liboi in Garissa County to Kisumu Railport, covering key sub-counties such as Turkana East, Laikipia, Kajiado, Machakos, and Marsabit.
