Kenyan voters can verify their personal voting information on the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) database.
You can now confirm your details through the commission’s online portal or by sending a short message with your ID or passport number.
The verification process is part of IEBC’s nationwide effort to ensure an accurate and transparent voter register.
Below is a step‑by‑step guide for you to verify your voter information through IEBC’s official portal.
How to Verify Your IEBC Voter Details
Have your Kenyan ID or valid passport number ready, this is the primary identifier required.

Enter your ID or Passport Number (some sources include Year of Birth for extra security) techmoran.comtecharena.co.ke
Click Verify
You will see your registration details including:
- Full name
- Date of birth & gender
- County, constituency, ward
- Polling station & code
If everything displays correctly “Voter found” you’re good to go.
SMS Verification
On your mobile device, send your ID or Passport number to 70000
The SMS fee is Ksh 10 (applies across Safaricom, Airtel, Telkom). You’ll receive an immediate reply that includes:
- Your name
- Location details (county, constituency, ward, polling station and code)
Some guides suggest sending the ID# followed by “#YYYY” (your birth year).
Your confirmation (via web or SMS) should reflect accurate, current registration data.
The portal may show a “voter found” notice, while SMS relays the details directly to your phone. Cross‑check these against your own information for consistency.

What to Do if Details Are Incorrect or Missing
If the details are wrong, outdated, or you aren’t found in the system:
Visit your local IEBC Constituency Office
Bring your original ID or passport (the one used for registration)
Submit a request for rectification or updating. You must act within the verification period (typically ~30 days during pre-election registration drives).
Verification helps you confirm you’re officially registered and that details are accurate.
Identifies any duplicates, deceased, or invalid entries. IEBC removed nearly 250,000 deceased and many duplicates in audits in 2022.
Ensures you vote at the correct polling station and avoid surprises on Election Day.
