How to Increase Fuliza Limit for Safaricom Users

Fuliza is a continuous overdraft service that allows MPESA customers to complete transactions when they do not have sufficient balance in their MPESA account.

To enjoy Fuliza M-PESA overdraft services, a customer needs to be registered on M-PESA with an active Safaricom M-PESA line. Customers will need to opt into the Fuliza service to enjoy it since it voluntary.

Since its inception in 2019, Fuliza has climbed the ranks of money lending service option and now holds the top spot beating M-Shwari and KCB MPESA services.

This service was underwritten by KCB and NCBA and was meant to be used for a duration of four to seven days.

However, it has since developed a life of its own, with users taking an overdraft of up to two weeks.

This coupled with recent reinstating of the bank to MPESA charges means that Fuliza has gotten many Kenyans out of pinch at least once or twice.

Eligibility

M-PESA customers registered using their national ID/Kenyan passport/Military ID can activate Fuliza but not all are eligible for a loan limit upon activation.

M-PESA accounts registered using foreign passport cannot successfully opt-in to Fuliza.

Upon opting in, one will be assigned a limit that defines the maximum amount of overdraft they can access.

Safaricom customers who qualify for Fuliza get reminders on how to join: “You qualify for FULIZA! Dial *334# to check your limit & use FULIZA to complete your M-PESA transactions when you have insufficient M-PESA balance.”

What is great about FULIZA

A customer can request for Fuliza as many times as long as it is within the allocated limit.

A customer will be able to Send Money to both registered and unregistered customers.

Moreover, a customer can pay to Lipa Na M-PESA: Buy goods and Paybill.

Customer can buy airtime for self and other via USSD or M-PESA APP. 

Fuliza limit

Fuliza limit is allocated upon activation by a customer who has been active on the network for at least 6 months based on their line’s activity.

To grow Fuliza limit, you need to continue using Safaricom and M-PESA services and repay your Fuliza M-PESA facility on time by toping up your M-PESA account.

Customers Safaricom for less than 6 months will have a ZERO LIMIT.

Every time a customer’s Fuliza limit rises, Safaricom usually sends a notification that reads: “Dear Brian, your Fuliza M-PESA limit is KSH 1000.00. Keep using M-PESA to grow your limit.”

Fuliza Charges

A customer will be charged a one off 1% access fee and a daily maintenance fee is applied the next day at midnight or 00.00 hrs.
