The widow of the late Johana Ngeno, Naiyanoi Ntutu, has been appointed a member of the Information and Communications Technology Authority board.
In a gazette notice dated April 2, Cabinet Secretary (CS) William Kabogo Gitau appointed Naiyanoi Ntutu to serve for a three-year term, effective immediately.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 6 (2) (e) of the Information and Communications Technology Authority Order, 2013, the Cabinet Secretary for Information, Communications and the Digital Economy appoints, Naiyanoi Ntutu to be a Member of the Board of Information and Communications Technology Authority, for a period of three (3) years,” read part of the gazette notice.
CS Kabogo Appoints Naiyanoi Ntutu to ICT Authority Board
On her appointment, Lily Ng’ok, Chairperson of the Information and Communications Technology Authority (ICTA), welcomed Naiyanoi Ntutu to the board, expressing confidence in her abilities and the contribution she will make to the team.
She expressed optimism about collaborating with Ntutu in advancing the Authority’s mandate.
“I am looking forward to working closely with you. I have no doubt in your abilities and the contribution you will make to the team,” Lily Ng’ok said.
She will join other board members, including Lily C. Ng’ok, John Tanui, Emmanuel Kata Kimeu, Benard Leitich, Edna Atisa, Savio Wambugu, Christopher Naicca, Leah Manyarkiy, John Karanja, Simon Sudi Ayomo, Rahma Jillo, Boniface Mbithi, and Jessy Maruti Kiveu.

Early Life and Career Background
Naiyanoi Ntutu hails from the prominent Ntutu family in Narok County. She is the daughter of former Narok Senator Stephen Ole Ntutu, who served between 2013 and 2017.
Further, she is also related to Narok Governor Patrick Ole Ntutu.
As a trained lawyer, Naiyanoi Ntutu has built her career on advocacy for women’s rights, with a focus on raising awareness of the legal protections available to women.
She has participated in community outreach programmes in Narok and Emurua Dikirr, supporting women to access legal assistance and better understand their rights.
Ntutu has also championed girls’ education, encouraging school-going children to stay in school and build confidence to take up leadership roles in the future.
Beyond her professional work, she is a mother of two daughters, whom she shares with her late husband, Johana Ng’eno.

Marriage and Loss
Naiyanoi Ntutu married Johana Ng’eno on August 18, 2018, in a vibrant ceremony at Emurua Dikirr Secondary School that drew prominent figures, including then Deputy President William Ruto, Oscar Sudi, and Patrick Ole Ntutu.
At the time, Ng’eno, aged 45, was serving his second term as a legislator. During their marriage, Ntutu actively participated in community initiatives, supported her husband’s public service, and balanced her legal career with raising their children.
Her life took a dramatic turn when Ng’eno died in a helicopter crash, thrusting her into the public spotlight.
