A healthy baby was born last evening on July 8 on ENA Coach bus traveling from Nairobi to Sori.
The bus company announced that the baby, nicknamed “Baby 036U” after the bus number KDK 036U, was delivered safely with the help of the bus staff and fellow passengers.
“We are very proud of our team and the passengers who helped with kindness and care,” ENA Coach said in a statement. “Welcome to the world, Baby 036U.”
The mother went into labour during the journey, and people on board quickly stepped in to help.
ENA Coach did not share the mother’s name but said both she and the baby are doing well.
This rare and joyful moment has touched many people, with social media users sending messages of congratulations and support.
ENA Coach also said it is proud of how calmly and kindly everyone on the bus responded.

Kenyans across social media shared mixed reactions, ranging from praise to playful commentary.
George Amollo, a fellow passenger, said he was proud to help during the delivery.
“I’m happy I was able to assist the lady who sat next to me, in seat B1. The passengers were very understanding, and we all waited until the baby was delivered,” he wrote.

“Kudos to the driver and the three other staff members. More importantly, shout-out to the lady who called the Red Cross team and the other woman who helped during labor.”
Lilian Juma, a frequent passenger on the route, joked about her dedication.
“038U from Nairobi to Bondo will be mine because of how hard I’m hustling on that route. Congratulations to the fellow mom,” she said.
Stephen Beko praised the bus service in a tongue-in-cheek comment, suggesting they upgrade their services.
“Ena should now train its staff on midwifery and obstetric services. People love giving birth on ENA Coach.”
Hussein Sabr joined in with humor and hope stating, “May the next baby born on 037U be mine and I’ll name her Safari. Can you all shout, ‘Amen’?”
“I deeply commend the ENA Coach team and kind passengers for their swift, compassionate support during the safe delivery of Baby 036U,” wrote Leonard Otieno in a reply to ENA Coach’s announcement.
“Give him/her a lifetime ticket,” posted Ali, while another user, Katu Brian, added, “Woow… so proud of you Kenyans… But people still can’t trace their calendars well?”
Miss Mutua commented, “I am so emotional. This is so good. Be blessed for the good act.”
