The Judiciary has appointed Paul Ndemo Maina as the Deputy Chief Registrar of the Judiciary and Judiciary Spokesperson.
In a statement on February 6, the Judiciary said the move aims at strengthening public engagement and enhancing transparency within the Judiciary.

“Ndemo’s appointment underscores the Judiciary’s commitment to effective communication and stakeholder engagement by ensuring the public. remains informed about judicial services and initiatives,” reads part of the statement.
As the Judiciary Spokesperson, Ndemo will serve as the primary point of contact for disseminating official information, clarifying matters related to judicial processes, and addressing public inquiries.

Roles as Deputy Registrar
Ndemo joined the Judiciary in August 2018 as the Deputy Chief Registrar.

Overall administration and management of the Judiciary.
Performing judicial functions vested in the office of the Chief Registrar;
- Exercising powers vested in the office of the Chief Registrar by virtue of any law or regulation and give effect to the directions of the Chief Justice.
- Acting as the accounting officer of the Judiciary.
- Preparing reports and proposals on administrative issues.
- Being in charge of support services in the Judiciary and in particular planning, and development, and the organization of staff.

Paul Ndemo Education
Paul Ndemo previously served at the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in the period between 2006 and 2018, where he rose to the position of Senior Assistant Director of Public Prosecutions.
He holds a Master of Arts degree in International Studies and a Bachelor of Laws degree both from the University of Nairobi.

Additionally, he has a Certificate in Strategic and Security Studies from the National Defence College and a Postgraduate Diploma from the Kenya School of Law.
He was admitted to the Bar in 1998.
