The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has advertised free training opportunities in the technical skills field.
In a job advertisement dated Tuesday, October 29, the Authority said the training will be conducted in four counties.
“The government of the Republic of Kenya has received financing from the World Bank towards the cost of the Horn of Africa Gateway Development Project and intends to apply part of the proceeds towards Technical Capacity Development through Training of the selected Unemployed Youth, Project Affected Persons, and People Living with Disabilities in Isiolo, Menu, Wajir, and Garissa Counties,” part of the job advertisement read.
According to KeNHA, the selected individuals will participate in a comprehensive technical skills training program at the craftsmanship level.
The institution and courses offered are as follows:

The training will be conducted at the Nkabune Technical Training Institute, the North Eastern National Polytechnic, Bishop Locati Training Institute, Sensei Institute of Technology, and the Meru National Polytechnic.
This training aims to equip participants with the necessary skills to enhance their employability and economic potential in various fields.

The Authority highlighted qualifications that applicants must have during the time of application which include:
a) Must be the age of between 18 years and 35 years.
b) Must meet the following education requirements.
I)For courses examined by KNEC: Possess KCSE and/or KCPE level certificates, demonstrating the ability to read and write.
II)For courses examined by NITA: No formal educational qualifications are required. Applicants may have any level of education, including those who have not completed formal schooling or have discontinued their education at any stage. The sole pre-requisite is the possession of a valid Kenyan National ID Card.
Requirements for the training
c)The Applicant must be a resident of either Meru, Isiolo, Wajir or Garissa County
d) The Applicant must apply for only one course at one institution.
Further, the Authority said that priority will be given to applicants who are orphaned, those from single-parenthood families, or young single parents.
Moreover, KenHA instructed applicants to collect application forms from the offices of area chiefs or at the KeNHA regional offices located in Isiolo and Garissa.
They are also available at the County Commissioners’ offices in Isiolo, Meru, Wajir, and Garissa.

Additionally, applicants can download the forms for free from the KeNHA website (www.kenha.co.ke)
Furthermore, application forms must be verified by the area Chief or Assistant County commissioner as proof of the residency status of the applicant.
At the same time, the authority said that the applications must be delivered in hardcopy to the KeNHA regional offices in Isiolo and Garissa, or at the Isiolo County Commissioner’s office, Meru County Commissioner’s office, Wajir County Commissioner’s office and addressed to the Director, Director Development of KeNHA before Tuesday, November 26 at 5:00 p.m.
The Authority further stated that the applications must be marked TECHNICAL CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT THROUGH TRAINING OF THE SELECTED UNEMPLOYED YOUTH, PROJECT AFFECTED PERSONS AND PERSONS LIVING WITH DISABILITIES IN ISIOLO, MERU, WAJIR AND GARISSA COUNTIES
