The Kenya National Highways Authority (KeNHA) has announced the closure of several roads following the heavy rains being experienced across the country.
In a statement on Tuesday, November, the authority stated that some roads had been closed in Northeastern, after the area experienced heavy rainfall.Â
Likewise, according KeNHA, Garissa – Dadaab (A3) Road at Saretho Town which is thirty kilometres from Dadaab Town and sixty kilometres from Modika Town was closed.Â
KeNHA cited heavy rains and flooding water crossing the roads hence causing an extensive erosion on the road edges and making them dangerous for motorists.
“This has been occasioned by the ongoing heavy rains that has led to flooding water crossing the A3 Road extensively eroding the existing road edges and the murram at the approaches to culverts hence making it very dangerous for road users,” stated the Authority.
Additionally, the authority noted that the roads would remain closed until heavy rains subside.
