How the Peace Agreement Benefits Kenya
With the termination of the conflict in the Middle East, the Strait of Hormuz is set to reopen, leading to border stabilization in the region and the affected nations.
Following the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, Kenya, among other nations, will benefit from global energy security and trade.
Additionally, the country and other African nations that have experienced economic strain from the US-Iran conflict will be able to stabilize their economies.
Further, the peace agreement will ensure that the affected global supply chain is restored, allowing countries to grow economically while maintaining peace.
De-escalation of the Middle East conflict, according to Musalia Mudavadi, will assist in stabilizing and lowering the rising fuel and commodity prices as well as inflationary pressures.
Musalia, citing the recent fuel protest, added that the peace agreement is an opportunity for the Kenyan government to ease the economic burden caused by the war in support of the economic recovery.
“This development offers hope for de-escalation, the reopening of vital maritime routes such as the Strait of Hormuz, and the broader stabilization of the Middle East region—outcomes that will benefit global energy security, trade and the lives of millions affected by conflict,” Prime Cabinet Musalia Mudavadi noted.
