Boniface Ngairah Ambani is a former Harambee Stars striker who played a key role in the Kenya’s 2004 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
He is the current Chairman of AFC Leopards, where he also played as a youth while in college from 1998 to 2000, and also coached at youth level after his retirement.
Ambani joined AFC Leopards in 1998 at the age of 16 and scored on his debut after being scouted by the club.
“While in college, I went to visit my brother Fred Ambani in Eldoret. He was playing for Rivertex. Then by chance I played for Eldoret Cereals one match and AFC Leopards came for me in 1998,’ Ambani confirmed in a recent interview with Dr. Ofweneke.
Boniface is also the Founder and CEO of Bochend General Merchants that provides sports kits and equipment.

Boniface Ambani was born in Naivasha in a sporting family.
His father, Ernest Ambani, was a military officer and an amateur footballer.
His older brother, Fred Ambani, was a footballer who transitioned into coaching.
Ambani did his primary education at Shikondi Primary School and his secondary education at Makhokho Secondary School in Kakamega County.
He attended the Rift Valley Institute of Science and Technology and earned a Diploma in Accounts.

Coaching Career

Shortly after his retirement, Ambani moved into coaching.
He coached Kangemi All Stars in 2014–2015.
He coached AFC Leopards Youth Team in 2016.
Ambani won the Nairobi West Branch League and Jamhuri Day Cup.
He developed players like Austin Odhiambo and Richard Odada at AFC Leopards Youth Team.
