The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Riyadh has addressed a viral video circulating on social media alleging neglect and misconduct in assisting Kenyan nationals at the Saudi Manpower Solutions Company (SMASCO) accommodation centre.
The Embassy of Kenya stated that the claims in the video are unfounded and reiterated its ongoing commitment to the welfare of Kenyan workers in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
“The Embassy of the Republic of Kenya in Riyadh takes note of a video circulating online, alleging neglect and misconduct in assisting Kenyans at Saudi Manpower Solutions Company (SMASCO) accommodation centre,” read part of the Kenya Embassy statement in part.
SMASCO and the Kenya Embassy Oversight
As per the issued statement, SMASCO is a licensed company under the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. It provides support services to domestic workers, including housing and related welfare services.
The Embassy maintains structured relations with SMASCO to ensure the safety and well-being of Kenyan nationals.
“The claims are unfounded,” the Embassy said, dismissing the allegations made in the viral post.
Additionally, the Embassy confirmed that it conducts weekly visits to SMASCO as part of its oversight duties and carries out additional visits when circumstances require.

These interactions are intended to monitor conditions, address any grievances, and provide timely support to Kenyan workers.
Repatriation and Urgent Cases
Between July 2025 and January 2026, the Embassy said it facilitated the repatriation of more than 2,590 Kenyans from SMASCO and other deportation centres across Saudi Arabia.
This figure includes individuals in urgent situations, such as those facing illness or other vulnerabilities, who receive immediate attention.
“Urgent cases, including those involving illness or vulnerability, receive immediate attention,” the statement noted.

The Embassy also confirmed that, as part of routine monitoring, it will verify the allegations highlighted in the viral post during future visits to SMASCO.
According to the Kenya Embassy in Riyadh, this step aims to ensure that any claims about the welfare of Kenyan workers are accurately assessed and addressed.
The Embassy restated its dedication to protecting the welfare of all Kenyans in the Kingdom.
It urged the public to rely on official sources for information about Kenyan nationals and cautioned against misinformation circulating on social media.
“We urge the public to rely on verified information from official sources,” the Embassy stated.
