Kenyan Radio Presenter Dies

The Kenyan radio station mourned the presenter and celebrated him for serving at the broadcasting station for over 15 years.

East FM breakfast radio presented Aleem Manji has passed away. The news was shared by the radio station in a statement on Sunday, November 12, evening. 

The Kenyan radio station mourned the presenter and celebrated him for serving at the Indian broadcasting station for over 15 years.

Additionally, Manji was eulogized as a warm and loving person who cared deeply about his friends and colleagues at the station.

“It is with a heavy heart and great sadness that we announce the sudden demise of our breakfast presenter Aleem Manji.

“We will miss you Aleem. Over 15 years of laughter, warmth, and immense joy. Your calmness and smile will be missed dearly,” the statement read in part.

The Life of Radio Presenter Manji 

In addition, the broadcaster indicated that Manji’s funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 14 at the Aga Khan Complex and Pavilion.

Notably, he was married to Seema Sarkar Manji for 13 years and had two children with his now widowed wife. 

The breakfast radio host died at the age of 45.

The family is yet to reveal the cause of his death or his last moments. However, Manji hosted a show on November 10, morning ushering in the Diwali holidays and even hosted several guests on the show.

The Kenyan broadcasting station airs Asian music in Nairobi, Mombasa and Kisumu. 

Additionally, the station focuses on Asian religion, music, social and cultural activities.

Some of its most popular programs include Breakfast at East FM, Hum Tum, On the Rush, Koroga Night and others. 

The station has been on the airwaves for 25 years now serving the Asian community. 

Other Radio Presenters Who Died Recently

Earlier in September, renowned sports commentator and Capital FM presenter Sean Cardovillis died with reports indicating that his body was found outside his house in Nairobi’s Westlands area. 

Police said Sean’s body was found on the staircase by a cleaner who was on duty.

Also, he was reported to have gone out for a bicycle ride earlier before returning home in the evening.

The news came after he had earlier in February 2022, appealed for financial support to help him clear medical bills after spending a long time in hospital.
