The National Assembly has invited the public to submit their views on the Finance Bill 2025.
In a notice dated May 13, 2025, the sponsor of the bill, Kuria Kimani, outlined acts that parliament seeks to amend.
“The National Assembly invites you to submit your views on the Finance Bill 2025 (National Assembly Bill No. 19 of 2025),” the notice reads in part.
What is included in the Bill?
Contents of the National Assembly Bill No. 19 of 2025 have been highlighted in the notice, with the draft mainly focused on revenue-raising measures.
Among the proposed changes are provisions to ease tax administration, clean up the statute book of terms, and cross-reference provisions that have been previously repealed. The notice further explains.
“The Bill contains proposals for revenue-raising measures, including provisions to ease tax administration, clean up the statute book of terms, and cross-reference provisions that have been previously repealed.”

Written memoranda should include details such as the name of the person or organisation and their contact details.

This memo is to be submitted to Parliament’s email with the address; [email protected] and [email protected].
A copy of the submission is also to be forwarded to [email protected].
“Written memoranda should indicate the name of the person or organisation submitting the memo and their contact details in their email to [email protected] and [email protected]. You can copy or forward your submission to [email protected],” it explains.

The deadline of the above-mentioned submissions is set for 27th May 2025 as stated in the notice.
For interested members of the public, the notice can be accessed via a shared link given. This will enable the public to interact with the contents of the finance bill and submit their views.
