Kakamega Senator Boni Khalwale has speared one of his favorite bulls named Inasio after it killed his farm’s caretaker.
In a statement, Khalwale said the move was in line with the Luhya culture.
“My champion bull, Inasio, has attacked and instantly killed Kizito Moi Amukune.
“Moi has been the caretaker of my fighter bulls for over 20 years. In keeping with our culture, I have today speared bull Inasio to death,” he stated in a post on X.
In an earlier interview, the Kakamega Senator narrated how the bull killed his longtime caretaker at his Kakamega home.
According to him, the caretaker came into the homestead drunk, implying that he must have been indulging in busaa, a locally brewed drink.
Upon his arrival, the bull mistook the busaa scent with that of molasses and started running towards him.

Then the man, frightened by the charging bull, tried to defend himself by hitting back, a move the Senator said provoked the mammal.
According to the Senator, the bull, if threatened, resorts to defending itself. On the fateful day, the bull took on Khalwale’s caretaker leaving him with injuries which later proved fatal.
He said the bull’s horns pierced into the caretaker’s chin in one of the observed injuries from the attack.
“I paid him yesterday. He came drunk and usually the scent of busaa is similar to that of molasses, so the bull ran towards him,” Khalwale explained.
“In the process of doing like that maybe he pushed it so he defended himself and killed him there is a horn that speared him here it is the one that finished him,” he added.
