Linus Kaikai is a Kenyan award-winning journalist. On 20th November 2025, together with 916 other advocates, they took the oath for admission into the bar as advocates of the High Court of Kenya.
Early life and education
Linus Kaikai was born on December 2, 1968, in Transmara, Narok County. Kaikai is the sixth of ten children, with four brothers and five sisters. His interest in journalism was driven by his father’s interest in news and current affairs.
On completing his primary school education, he joined Kilgoris Secondary School, where he sat for the KCSE.
He then joined the Kenya Institute of Mass Communication (KIMC), where he did a diploma in Radio and TV broadcasting.

Kaikai holds a master’s degree in international journalism from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology and a Law Degree from the University of Nairobi. He attended the Kenya School of Law and is an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
Professional Career
Kaikai’s professional career began at the Kenya Television Network ( KTN).
At KTN, he won the 1997 CNN African Television Journalist 1st Prize and the 1998 Environmental Journalist of the Year Award.
He then joined the South African Broadcasting Corporation (SABC), where he spent eight years and advanced from a correspondent to the position of Bureau Chief.
In 2007, Kaikai returned to KTN as the Managing Editor overseeing Quality and Product Development. After two years, he joined the National Television (NTV), where he served as the Managing Editor.

Currently, he is the Group Editorial & Strategy Director at Royal Media Services (RMS) and part of the Citizen TV News gang.
With his studies in LAW, he is awaiting admission into the bar as an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya.
