Longhorn Publishers’ Board of Directors has announced the resignation of its Company Secretary, who has held the position for the past 14 years.
In a notice dated September 24, the Board stated that Enid Muriuki has stepped down as Company Secretary, effective the same day.
“In compliance with the requirements of the Capital Markets Authority (CMA) Regulations, the Nairobi Securities Exchange (NSE) Listing Rules, and the provisions of the Companies Act, 2015 (Laws of Kenya), the Board of Directors of Longhorn Publishers PLC wishes to notify its shareholders and the investing public of the following changes,” read the notice in part.
“Ms. Enid Muriuki has resigned from her position as Company Secretary, effective 24 September 2025. Enid has served on the Board in various committees for more than 10 years.”

The Board of Directors expressed its heartfelt gratitude for her exemplary service and significant contributions during her tenure.
Muriuki played a pivotal role in strengthening the company’s corporate governance framework and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Enid Muriuki was appointed as the Company Secretary at Longhorn Publishers PLC in 2011.
She is a Certified Public Secretary and a Certified Governance Auditor with 18 years’ experience in matters of corporate governance and statutory compliance.
Meanwhile, the company appointed Anne Otunga as her replacement, also effective September 24.
“We are pleased to welcome FCS Anne Otunga as the new Company Secretary, effective 24th September 2025. With over 15 years of experience in corporate governance, law, and compliance, Anne brings invaluable expertise to the Group,” read the notice further.

The newly appointed Company Secretary, Anne Otunga, is a corporate governance professional with over 15 years of experience advising local and multinational companies on corporate law, compliance, and board effectiveness.
She is a Partner at Bellmac Consulting LLP, an Advocate of the High Court of Kenya, a Certified Public Secretary, an Accredited Legal and Governance Auditor, and a Certified Trainer of Trainers.
Otunga holds an LL.M in Corporate Governance and the Law from the University of Nairobi and an MBA in Strategic and Human Resource Management from Daystar University.
Longhorn said the announcement of the appointment has been issued with the approval of the Capital Markets Authority, pursuant to the Capital Markets (Securities) (Public Offers, Listing and Disclosures) Regulations, 2023, as amended.
“As a matter of policy, the Capital Markets Authority assumes no responsibility for the correctness of the statements appearing in this announcement,” the company said.

Publisher’s CEO Maxwel Wahome Resigns
The announcement comes a month after Longhorn revealed that its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Maxwell Wahome, would step down from his position effective September 30, 2025.
Wahome has been with the company for nine years, the last seven of which he served as CEO.
Following his resignation, the Board has appointed Simon Ngigi as Acting Chief Executive Officer, effective immediately.
“The Board of Directors of Longhorn Publishers PLC announces that Mr. Maxwell Wahome will be stepping down as Chief Executive Officer, with his last day of service being 30th September 2025,” the notice read in part.
“Over this period, he provided visionary leadership and made significant contributions to Longhorn’s growth. His efforts have strengthened the company’s market position and laid a solid foundation for continued success.”
