Three suspected bank robbers escaped police pursuit on Tuesday, May 24 in Matuu Town, Machakos County.
According to the Yatta sub-county police commander Mary Njoki, the trio suspected to have been on a mission to rob KCB bank, Matuu branch located along Nairobi- Garissa Highway escaped on foot after abandoning their car during a police chase.

“It was reported today by the KCB Matuu branch officials at around 4.30 pm that there were suspicious characters around the bank using a personal vehicle with registration number KCV 969 S, Toyota vitz, silver in color,” Njoki said.
According to police report, the suspects were one female and two men. In addition, the abandoned vehicle was impounded at Matuu police station where one mobile phone and personal clothing belonging to the suspects were also recovered.
The police commander reported that investigations into the matter are underway.
