Makini Schools’ management has denied claims of expelling two pupils for the actions of their father.
In a statement dated July 12, the board stated that it is aware of defamatory and false accusations against the Makini Schools and its Managing Director.
According to the school, a faction of the Parents Teachers Association (PTA) was behind the accusations.
In addition, the institution stated that the allegations were part of a scheme to hurt its reputation.
“The Board and Management of Makini Schools wishes to unequivocally state that these allegations are both false and malicious.
We have adequate evidence to show that they have no basis of facts. Makini Schols is resolute in its commitment to safeguarding the reputation and legacy we have diligently built over the years,” said Hezron Otieno, Chairman, Makini Schools.
Further, the School Board instructed its legal team to take action against the perpetrators of the allegations.
Otieno added that Makini Schools continues to operate with utmost professionalism, transparency and integrity.
“The wellbeing of safety and holistic development of our learners, staff and entire community are our foremost priority.
We remain unwavering in our dedication to delivering an exceptional educational experience, personal growth and social well-being,” said Otieno.

Court Submission

Moreover, according to the lawyer, the two learners risk missing classes in Grade 3 and 4 since the school term is ongoing.
“The PTA, by a letter dated 5th July 2023 through their advocate on record, raised several issues concerning the welfare of the learners in the school including high turnover of teachers through dismissal, general aggressive behavior of [the] Regional Managing Director, herein of visibly carrying firearm within the school compound, smoking within the institution in the presence of learners and erection of structure as a Smoking Zone within the school,” submitted lawyer Mboya.
“The PTA issued a notice on June 16, 2023, calling for the Annual General Meeting on July 8, 2023, as required by the Constitution of the Makini School Parents/Teachers Association.
The meeting sought to address key issues in the letter dated July 5, 2023.” he further stated.
