Police are investigating an incident where a 60-year-old man was lynched by a mob after allegedly stabbing his wife to death in Nyalula village, Siaya County.
Bernard Odweso attacked and killed his 55-year-old wife, Pamela Anyango, on Sunday, July 7th, following a disagreement over Ksh 30.
Siaya County Police Commander Cleti Kimaiyo stated that a relative of the deceased reported the incident at Siaya Police Station hours later.
Upon visiting the scene, police officers found that the couple had disagreed over Ksh30 intended for church offering, which had gone missing from their home.
Anyango suspected her husband of taking the money.
“The couple was at home with their 22-year-old daughter when the disagreement arose,” Kimaiyo said.
During the altercation, Odweso became enraged and attacked his wife with a knife, killing her on the spot.
Their daughter, Vida Odweso, managed to escape and screamed for help, attracting neighbors who responded swiftly.
How the Man Attacked His Son
According to Kimaiyo, after the incident, the couple’s 24-year-old son, Dickens Odweso, arrived at the scene and found his father armed with an iron rod and knife outside the home.
Odweso then charged at his son, stabbing him in the neck and left leg.
“The father injured his son with a knife as he responded to the scene where the mother lay motionless,” said Kimaiyo.

Also, the injured son was treated at Ratuoro Health Centre and later discharged.
