Lawyer and digital content creator Morara Kebaso, who has become popular for mimicking President William Ruto, has announced that he is closing down his business to fully focus on governance.
Speaking on Monday, August 19, Morara said he plans to establish a governance office with the needed equipment and staff to focus on civic education and the fight against corruption.
“I now intend to go into governance and take the role of calling for good governance and to abandon my business because I think I am done with making money. Not that it is enough, but I need a new sense of purpose and direction. I think I have found my purpose on this earth,” Morara said.
Morara explained that the office will conduct research on government projects and visit all of them to keep the people informed of their progress.
“I need to do something that is not about money but that advances the course of humanity. So, I am establishing an office, I am going to hire staff, and we are going to do very good research on all these projects and visit all of them,” he said.
What the Office Will Do
The lawyer stated that the mission of his office is civic education, especially to people in the villages, rural municipalities and slum settlements.
He explained that his office will communicate to these people so that they understand what corruption means by providing relatable examples of how it is affecting them in their villages.
“When you tell somebody about corruption about something that happened in Nairobi, they themselves have never been in Nairobi or they came for events and went back; so, they don’t understand. But when you tell them about a project that is just next to them, that they use every day, you are able to break it down to them,” Morara said.
