National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah has dismissed claims that he orchestrated the attack on Northlands farm owned by retired President Uhuru Kenyatta’s family.
The lawmaker said his infamous statements over the weekend before the Kenyatta land invasion was just a warning to the former president against violence should he refuse to stop funding opposition activities.
“I cautioned him last Saturday, and if you listen to that clip, I was very particular. I addressed none other than Uhuru Kenyatta, and I said he is the sole and singular financier of these Azimio chaos, as the chairman of the Azimio council. And I told him, if you continue to orchestrate violence, violence has no end. It has no boundaries. You will find it at your doorstep,” Ichung’wah said.
While addressing members of the press on Tuesday, March 28, Ichung’wah accused opposition leader Raila Odinga of looking to get into the President William Ruto-led government through handshake.
He further stated that Azimio la Umoja One Kenya Coalition has disregarded constitutional avenues in looking for solutions to pressing public problems.

As such, Ichung’wah said the allegations against him were a plot by Mr. Odinga to tarnish the names of President William Ruto’s allies.
Nonetheless, the Kikuyu lawmaker made the infamous remarks during an event attended by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua at his former secondary school in Kianyaga, Kirinyaga County.
He had warned that the farm owned by the retired president’s family was at risk should his alleged funding of opposition activities continue.
“Na mali ya MKenya ikivamiwa, hata hizo mashamba zenu tutazivamia na wenye hawana mashamba wapate mashamba Kenya hii…msifikiri ati ni Wakenya wa kawaida watapoteza mali, even you, you will pay a price if you continue to instigate violence and bloodshed in this country…and that is my message to none other than Uhuru Kenyatta, the sponsor and sole sponsor singular financier of Azimio,” Ichung’wah said in the viral clip.
The National Assembly Majority Leader said challenges affecting Kenyans have set channels through which they can be addressed. He also asked Azimio Coalition to end the protests.
