Nairobi City Water and Sewerage Company (NCWSC) has warned the public against fake job vacancies announced by unscrupulous individuals.
The Company Managing Director Nahason Muguna called off the swindlers posing as NCWSC.
In a public notice on Wednesday, October 4, NCWSC stated that it had been made aware of people inviting the public to apply for jobs through a fake email address.
“It has come to the attention of NCWSC that unscrupulous individuals have invited the public to apply for vacancies in the company through an email nairobicitywaterandsewrage047@gmail.com,” read the notice by the Managing Director.
NCWSC further clarified that it had advertised positions in Technical and legal Directorates in December 2021 and that the advertised positions were already filled.
“NCWSC would like to inform the general public that vacancies in technical and Legal Directorates were advertised in December 2021 and the positions are already filled,” read the notice in part.

Further the sewerage company informed the public that NCWSC emails have a domain, adding that they do not use Gmail addresses for recruitment or any other purposes.

“The public should note that NCWSC emails have the domain nairobiwater.co.ke and NCWSC does not use Gmail addresses for recruitment or any other purposes,” NCWSC stated.
NCWSC Mandate in Nairobi
The NCWSC Company is mandated to provide clean water and sewage services to the residents of Nairobi City County, in a financially sustainable manner and within Government regulations.
Moreover, the company is a wholly owned subsidiary of Nairobi City County with the main responsibility of providing and managing water and sewage services in the county.
The company also has an asset holding body, Athi Water Works Development Agency (AWWDA) which is charged with the responsibility of developing key water and sewage infrastructure.

Furthermore, the company has made it clear that it does not charge any facilitation fees when recruiting staff, including temporary casuals.
Subsequently NCWSC informed the public that they are not responsible for any personal loss arising from fraudulent job offers or related transactions.
