A Nairobi City County enforcement officer died after falling from the 6th floor of a building in the Central Business District (CBD). The incident happened on the afternoon of Saturday, May 31, 2025.
According to witnesses, the officer fell from the sixth floor of the City Hall Annex.
The building houses the county headquarters, including the office of Governor Johnson Sakaja.
He landed at the entrance of the parking yard of the building and died on the spot.
He was dressed in his work uniform when the incident happened.
Central Officer Commanding Police Division (OCPD) Stephen Okal led a team of police officers at the scene after receiving reports about the tragedy.
Okal said the cause of the fall could not be established immediately.
He stated that investigations were underway to establish what could have led to the incident.
Possible Causes of the Incident
However, Okal hinted that it could have been a case of suicide, mistaken fall or the officer was pushed.
“Investigators are there to know more. It could be a suicide, an accidental fall, someone was escaping or was pushed,” Okal said.
The body of the deceased was taken to the Nairobi Funeral Home as the investigations began.
Police said the investigations will also reveal the identity of the deceased.
There was a crowd gathered at the scene to witness the same.
Nairobi County Intern Dies
This comes after an intern at the Nairobi County offices was found dead on February 23.
Elvis Munene, a 19-year-old who went missing on January 29, was found dead after being missing for 23 days.
He was working an intern at the county’s IT department, at the City Hall Annex
Munene was found dead at the Kenyatta National Hospital.

He was coming from work, headed to Nairobi CBD before going home.
Reports indicated that Munene was confronted by police officers alongside his close friend.
They had met in the CBD to purchase a phone when the incident happened.
Munene managed to escape but his friend was captured by the police.

He was later captured and beaten by a mob at the junction of Kirinyaga Road and Charles Rubia Road in the CBD.
It was alleged that Munene had stolen a phone before he was taken down by the mob.
Eyewitnesses said police arrived, rescued him and took him to KNH.
Munene reportedly succumbed to his injuries two days later, with his body transferred to the KNH mortuary.
