The update by Moja Expressway is among a number of recent maintenance road works that have been undertaken.
The floods caused by heavy rains in the March, April, and May rains had wreaked havoc on major roads across the country and occasionally led to disruptions of normal traffic flow.
In March, for example, motorists using the elevated highway were caught off-guard by floodwaters that rendered some sections impassable.
Whilst the Chinese-built road has in the past been hailed as a game changer in Nairobi’s transport, some critics were quick to point out the lack of a proper stormwater plan.
Since its launch in 2022, the Expressway has from time-to-time undergone improvements to enhance its efficiency.
