The media house further urged EPL fans to tune in to its stations, namely Radio Maisha, Spice FM, and Berur FM, for the most comprehensive and exclusive coverage of the matches throughout the season.

The exclusive broadcasting rights for the English Premier League (EPL) involve complex licensing agreements that allow broadcasting companies to present EPL matches to fans around the world.

These rights grant a specific broadcasting company the sole authority to show and distribute EPL matches within a designated region or market.

This exclusivity prevents other broadcasters from airing the same matches in that area, thereby maintaining the value of the acquired rights.

How Broadcasting Right Works

The Premier League permits television and radio broadcasters in the United Kingdom (UK) and foreign media outlets to air EPL matches for a fee.

In the UK, 200 out of the 380 matches during a Premier League season are televised. These matches are divided into seven packages that broadcasters like  BT, Sky and Amazon can bid on.

Additionally, the Premier League allows foreign media companies to air some matches; however, this process is complex, as the broadcasters must be identified from various continents and countries.

The fees paid by broadcasters are distributed among the 20 Premier League clubs as follows: 50 percent is divided equally among all clubs, and 25 percent is allocated based on performance merit basis, determined by final league positions, and 25 percent is distributed as a facilities fee for televised matches.
