Busia County has a total of 416,756 registered voters, according to the latest data released by the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC).
The county is divided into seven constituencies, each represented in the National Assembly by a Member of Parliament.
Teso South has the highest number of registered voters at 71,268, followed by Matayos with 67,708 and Butula close behind at 67,377.
Teso North, another populous area, accounts for 59,795 voters. Funyula and Nambale have 54,031 and 50,545 registered voters, respectively, while Budalangi records the lowest with 46,032.

In terms of parliamentary representation, the county leans heavily toward the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM), which holds five of the seven constituency seats.

Edward Kaunya Oku represents Teso North under the ODM ticket, while Geoffrey Makokha Odanga (Matayos), Joseph H. Maero Oyula (Butula), Wilberforce Ojiambo Oundo (Funyula), and Raphael Sauti (Bitta) Wanjala (Budalangi) also serve on the party’s platform.
The remaining seats are held by Mary Emaase Otucho of the United Democratic Alliance (UDA) in Teso South and Geoffrey Ekesa Mulanya, an independent MP representing Nambale.
