The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party has clinched the Magarini Constituency parliamentary seat after hotly contested by-elections conducted on November 27, 2025.
Harrison Kombe Garama won the seat with 11,373 votes, ahead of his closest competitor, Stanley Karisa Kenga of the Democracy for Citizens Party (DCP)- who came in second with 5,588 votes.
The race proved to be a two-horse race between Kombe, who enjoyed the backing of politicians affiliated with the broad-based government, and Kenga, who was backed by the United Opposition.
Harrison Kombe lost the seat in 2024 after the Supreme Court upheld a decision that nullified his 2022 election.
The nullification followed a petition by Stanley Kenga, who finished second in the 2022 race with 11,925 votes, behind Kombe, who garnered 11,946.
However, the High Court nullified the election outcome, citing glaring irregularities in the process where only 21 votes separated the two candidates.
