Narok Senator Ledama Ole Kina has lectured the government on International Monetary fund (IMF) policies that do not work for the country.
In a statement on Saturday, the senator stated that the executive is being controlled by foreign forces that do not understand the country’s policies.
“The executive is being controlled by IMF and world bank coming up with policies that end up destroying the integrity of our country,” lamented Ole kina.
Additionally, the senator expressed his disappointment on the clause of the now withdrawn bill that sought to have ancestral lands sold not passed to generations.
Ole Kina Lectures the Government
“Some of us millennials got an opportunity to enjoy, some of them from my community got free land but a foreign power comes and tells you to convert the free land into lease hold,” the senator affirmed.
The senator lectured the leadership of the three arms of government (Judiciary, executive, legislature) asking them to uphold diligence and integrity while serving the people of Kenya.

He affirmed the need to respect and uphold separation of power between the three, urging them to perform their tasks freely without seeking validation from the executive.
The Senator also condemned Members of Parliament for failing to represent Kenyans during the drafting and voting of the 2024 Finance Bill.
“You know we are enticed with money; you are told to pass a bill you get some little money,” he said
While showing his support for Gen Z led protests, Ledama stated that they are woke generation and with time they would direct how they want the country to be governed.
IMF handwriting on Finance Bill
Ledama’s statement comes amid concerns that the IMF had influenced some tax proposals contained in the Finance Bill 2024, following the country renewal of its terms with the international lender.
In a bid to counter the concerns, the international lender released a statement expressing its concerns over violence witnessed during the anti-finance bill protests in Kenya.

“We are deeply concerned about the tragic events in Kenya in recent days and saddened by the loss of lives and the many injuries,” read part of the statement by IMF’s Director of Communications.
In addition, IMF, expressed its commitment to working with the government to chart course towards robust, sustainable, and inclusive economic growth.
