The Parliamentary Service Commission (PSC) has invited applications from energetic and results-oriented individuals interested in serving as security guards in the parliament premises.
In a notice dated June 1, PSC declared 38 security warden positions vacant.
According to the notice, the officers will be responsible for implementing the security policies and procedures that ensure the safety and security of personnel and property within the precincts of Parliament.
One of the roles of the guards will be to control crowds during demonstrations and state official functions.
Successful candidates will also be tasked with controlling vehicle and pedestrian access at the gates for orderly entry into Parliament.
They will also guard X-ray machines, walk-through metal detectors, underbelly cameras, CCTV screens and bomb detectors to detect and apprehend criminals.
The security wardens will also search vehicles and persons entering and exiting the precincts of Parliament.
Additionally, they will screen, vet, direct, and clear visitors to ensure that only authorised individuals gain access to Parliament.
They will maintain the Occurrence Book and other Security books and records so that future references can be made in cases of investigations.
Other Roles
The guards will also conduct foot patrols of the boundary fence line and internal buildings to prevent any unauthorised entry into the precincts and ensure that only authorised persons are in these areas.
Other functions include manning the Control room and monitoring the CCTV surveillance system, handling the telephone and dispatching personnel to all calls for assistance.
They will be to guard the ISMS and security equipment as required in the SOP.
The guards will conduct regular checks on the serviceability of the fire safety equipment and provide timely First Aid services as may be required.

Requirements for Direct Appointment
For appointment to the grade of Security Warden, a candidate must possess Kanye Certificate of Secondary Education (KCSE) minimum D+ grade (plus).
Candidates must also have completed paramilitary training fun any of the uniformed services.
They must have served satisfactorily in a uniformed service for a period of not less than three years.

Parliament Application Procedure
Applications must include a cover letter, copies of academic certification and testimonials and a duly completed Parliamentary Service Commission Job Application Form (Form 1).
The form can be downloaded from www.parlament.go.kr or obtained from the office of the Head of the Commission Secretariat, 1st Floor, County Hall, Parliament Buildings.
“Application from applicants who do not complete the Parliamentary Service Commission Job Application (Form 1) Forint referred to in this advertisement will not be considered,” PSC noted.
