Ruto Addresses Being a One Term President

President William Ruto has addressed reports that he will become a one-term president.

Speaking during a church service at United Pentecostal Church of Kenya, Dagoretti North, Nairobi, the head of state asked those castigating him, saying that he had come a long way.

According to Ruto, many did not even believe that he would become president, let alone the talk of multiple terms.

“There are people talking about one tern two or three terms. I want to let you know that earlier, some people did not even think I would have any term as president. But who is God?

“I am very happy that God has given me this opportunity to lead Kenya. I was a small person, my family was not influential, and I came from a small village. But I am a very proud president of Kenya,” he said.

Further, Ruto asserted that he was on a mission to unite Kenyans despite their ethnic background or political stance, saying that it was the right way to propel the nation. 

“God has given me an opportunity to transform Kenya. That is why I am willing to work with all leaders and all Kenyans.

“One man or one party cannot do it, but together we can achieve much. I was to applaud the people of Nairobi for your togetherness,” added the president.

Sifuna on Ruto Being a One-Term President

Speaking to the media on Wednesday, January 8, Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna criticized Kapsaret MP Oscar Sudi, Tiaty MP William Kamket, and COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli for misleading the President.

According to Sifuna, the three leaders would cost Ruto his second term.  

Sifuna explained that recent public statements by the three had angered many Kenyans. describing their remarks as boastful, adding that they were against the Kenya Kwanza administration’s policies.

He warned that if Ruto faced a one-term presidency, the three leaders would be the ones to blame.
