President William Ruto will on Thursday, September 29 address the first joint sitting of the bicameral house as 13th Parliament opens.
Moreover, speaker of the National Assembly Moses Wetangula and his Senate counterpart Amason Kingi say the address by the head of state complies with Article 132 (1) (a) of the Constitution which requires the Head of State to address the opening of each newly elected Parliament.
In addition, the 13th Parliament was sworn in on September 8 following the results of the August 9 General Election.

Moreover, opening of the 13th Parliament sets the stage for both Houses to officially start executing their legislative mandate.
