President William Ruto has said that he is proud of the young people for stepping forward and fighting for their rights during the Anti-Finance Bill protests.
Ruto while attending a church Service at ACK Diocese Nyahururu in Laikipia County said he is going to engage the Gen Z to discuss about their grievances.
“I want to agree with what Archbishop Ole Sapit said concerning our youth in Kenya. These youth are our children that we gave birth to an taken care of,” Ruto said.
“I want to congratulate them for stepping forward and engaging on the affairs of their country.”
He further stated that he is going to have a conversation with the youth so that together they can build a greater nation adding that his government is concerned about their concerns.
“We are going to engage the youth and have conversation so that we can identify your issues,” Ruto added.
Ruto Says he Will Engage the Gen Z
Ruto lauded the youth stating that they have done a democratic duty to stand and being recognized.

President Ruto further said the youth stepped forward tribeless and peaceful while protesting against the Finance Bill.
Furthermore, Ruto said his government has put into consideration the demands of the youth by enhancing the budget allocation to the Constituency Development Funds (CDF)by Ksh 10 billion.
“Our young will be able to get bursaries, and we will be able to build ICT hubs so that these young people can get digital jobs because we know the challenge of unemployment in the Country,” he added.
Additionally, he noted the government has also increased funds allocation to the Higher Education Loans Board (HELB) so that no child from vulnerable families can lack an opportunity to be enrolled in TVET or University.

President Ruto’s response came after Archbishop Jackson Ole Sapit while attending the same event said the Gen Z who have no religion, and no class are not the enemies of the nation but their children.
Ole Sapit Calls for Dialogue
Ole Sapit said the anti-Finance Bill protests going on does not require too much talking but requires an ear to listen.
“To your excellency and the government this is a discerning moment, not so much talking but listening and reaching out to one another,” he said.
He further urged the Police forces not to use excessive forces on them and encouraged the Gen Z not to destroy of kill but to remain civil.
Ole Sapit called on Ruto to journey together to fix solutions that affect Kenyans because they have the capacity to do so but in a loving way.
