President William Ruto and several Cabinet Secretaries have announced fresh appointments and reappointments across key government agencies, boards, and state corporations.
The changes, published in aGazette Notice dated February 21, 2026, include appointments to the State Corporations Advisory Committee, Technical Universities, and regulatory bodies.
In the notice, Ruto re-appointed Mzee Mwinyi Mzee as a Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Coast Development Authority.
Additionally, the president re-appointed Samson Kipkoech as a Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Tourism Fund Board.
“In exercise of the powers conferred by section 67 (4) (a) of the Tourism Act, I, William Samoei Ruto, President of the Republic of Kenya and Commander-in-Chief of the Defence Forces, re-appoint Samson Kipkoech,” read part of the gazette notice.
In addition, Abdillahi Ibrahim has been reappointed as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Board of Directors of the Kenya Medical Research Institute, while Sophy Nekoye has been reappointed as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Youth Advisory Board.
Jane Langat was also re-appointed as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Women Enterprise Fund Advisory Board.
Their terms will run for three (3) years, effective February 20, 2026.
Ogamba Makes Changes in an Academic Institution
On his part, Education CS Julius Ogamba has appointed James Okebiro Mageto and Ethel Nakhumicha Githirwa as Members of the Council of the Kiambu National Polytechnic.
Pauline Mallo Nagila and Julius Mokogi will serve as Members of the Council of the Kabete National Polytechnic Council, while Gilbert Kiptanui Nyongi has been appointed as a Member of the Council of the Kabete National Polytechnic Council..

Their appointees will serve for three (3) years, effective February 20, 2026.
Mutahi Kagwe, Martha Koome and Lee Kinyanjui Announce Appointments
Chief Justice Martha Koome Stephen Odhiambo Anditi as chairperson of the Privatization Committee.
CJ Koome also appointed Anne Jepkokei Cheboi, Brian Mutie Muithya, Leonard Kinyulus, and Eric Thige Muchiri as members of the Privatization Committee for a term of three (3) years, with effect from the February 9, 2026.
At the same time, Agriculture CS Mutahi Kagwe has reappointed Gabriel Pule as a Member of the Kenya Dairy Board, for a period of three (3) years.

CS for Defence Soipan Tuya has re-appointed Edward Cherop as a Member of the Advisory Committee on Military Veterans for a period of three years.
On his part, Lee Kinyanjui, CS for Trade and industry has re-appointed Francis Mugo as the Non-Executive Chairperson of the Scrap Metal Council.
