President William Ruto, speaking at the centenary celebrations of Alliance High School, has directed the school’s principal to change the contractor for a multimillion-shilling classroom construction project.
In his address, Ruto stated that the government would fund the building of additional classrooms, increasing the original plan from 21 to 40 classrooms, with the revised budget rising accordingly.
He confirmed that further funds had been allocated to ensure all infrastructure projects are completed, stressing that the contractor assignment for the new classrooms would be handed over to a trusted associate, Hinga, to oversee the construction.
“And we are enhancing the budget from Khs35 million to Ks60 million, with only one caveat, that we change the contractor and hand over that assignment to my good friend, Hinga, to do those classrooms. That is not a request. You just have to do it.,” Ruto said.
The President outlined the government’s ongoing support for the school, noting the completion of a new dormitory and dining hall, as well as improvements to the road network within both Alliance High and Alliance Girls’ School.
