President William Ruto has praised Professor Kithure Kindiki following his nomination as the Cabinet Secretary in the Ministry of Interior and National Administration.
Ruto, while presiding over the commissioning of Kibung’a Kakimiki water in Tharaka Nithi County on July 25, said he formed a broad-based government would unite Kenyans and end the biased leadership.
Hea also stated that the new nominees will help the government in ensuring proper tax collection and the repayment of the country’s debts.
“Yesterday I formed a government that will bring all Kenyans together because I have decided that there is no need to be biased. Let us come together and build one government that will serve the people of Kenya and bring development to the country,” Ruto said.
Ruto further mentioned that the people of Tharaka gave him a competent Interior CS in Kithure Kindiki who during the past two years has successfully dealt with Bandits.
“I want to thank the people of Tharaka Nithi for giving us Professor Kithure Kindiki. As the Minister of Interior, he has done an excellent job,” Ruto said.
“The terrorists are now stuck, and in Lamu, he has organized well. Even in the North Rift, the bandits have fled away.”
Ruto Pours Praises on Kindiki
The Head of state added that Kindiki had successfully tackled security threats in the country, including banditry and terrorism, which had been a major challenge for many years.
Furthermore, he emphasized that Kindiki is fit for the job and that he should continue with his docket in fighting criminals in the country.
“Let him continue with his job and deal with the bandits accordingly. He should move forward to ensure there is peace in Kenya and that people follow the law. Criminals should be dealt with, and the bandits must be driven away.”

Kindiki was among the Cabinet Secretaries who were dismissed on July 11 but later reappointed to the cabinet by the President.
Leaders Calling for Reappointment of Kindiki
Elected leaders from Tharaka Nithi and Meru counties had earlier asked President William Ruto to appoint Kithure Kindiki to his next cabinet stating that he has been consistently the best performer in the dissolved cabinet.
They stated that no one else from the region was qualified enough to replace Kindiki.
Governor Muthomi Njuki highlighted that Kindiki had successfully tackled security threats in the country, including banditry and terrorism, which had been major challenges for many years.
“Kenyans are in support of the dismissals by the president who gave a commitment to the people of Kenya that he will consult with all stakeholders before the appointment of the next cabinet,” Njuki said.

“The CS position that was given to Kindiki was a regional seat, and as people of Mt Kenya, we have sat and agreed with the leadership that if a position shall be given to Tharaka Nithi, let him be reinstated as CS, and we believe the President will listen to us,” Njuki said.
He emphasized that the former CS had not been found guilty of abuse of office or any other offense within the Interior ministry and urged the President not to be swayed by the opposition.
However, Kindiki’s nomination has faced backlash with Kenyans calling for his prosecution over the killings of protesters during the recent anti-government protests.
