President William Ruto has announced that Call Centre International (CCI) in Ruiru is going to hire 5,000 Kenyans for online jobs.
Speaking during a meeting with Kenyans in the United States of America on Monday, May 20 Ruto said that these Kenyans will be working from Ruiru for American companies.
He added that the company, CCI Global – Africa’s business outsourcing firm, has set up a Sh6.6 billion ($50 million) call center at Tatu City in Ruiru, Kiambu County.
“Last week I was in Ruiru where we were commissioning a Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) that is going to hire 5,000 Kenyans,” President Ruto said.
Ruto assured that the same company will be hiring 20,000 Kenyans in the next two years.

Job Creation
The President highlighted his famous bottom-up agenda in his remarks on Kenya-US partnership that aims to transform Kenya’s economy through job creation and wealth generation.
“Mindful of this capacity, Kenya is pursuing a bold bottom-up economic transformation agenda to drive inclusive growth, job creation, and wealth generation,” he stated.
Ruto added that these measures were aimed at helping the government unlock job opportunities in the Business Process Outsourcing (BPO) services sector.
According to the head of state, the government is implementing new laws and policies that will facilitate growth in Information Technology (IT) through offering opportunities to the youth and attracting global investors.
“I’m very proud that in Kenya we have world-class facilities. We are determined to claim our fair share of the BPO pie for the benefit of our young men and women who are eager to contribute to growing our economy,” Ruto said during the launch at Tatu City in Ruiru.
Ruto State Visit
President William Ruto on Monday, May 20, arrived in the United States of America for his three-day state visit.
Furthermore, State house spokesperson Hussein Mohammed had said the president’s state visit demonstrated a robust partnership between Kenya and United States.

He is set to hold the main bilateral meetings with his host President Joe Biden on May 23.
