President William Ruto has offered to pay school fees for 210 students admitted to PCEA Booth Girls’ High School located in Lang’ata Constituency, Nairobi County, Kenya.
Ruto said he would pay their school fees and cater to their other needs.

The President added that he would treat the children as his own for the next four years.
“To the parents, I know many of you have other children. These will now be my children for the next four years. I will educate them,” he said.

In his speech, Ruto asked leaders to stop politicizing matters related to the education sector and ensure all children have the opportunity to study.
“We can have different viewpoints in matters political, but when it comes to our children, we must give everyone who deserves an opportunity to learn,” he said.

The Head of State also acknowledged that several other students are in need.
County Govts to Provide Bursaries
Ruto stated that he has instructed the Ministry of Education to work with the Council of Governors (CoG) to develop a required framework to facilitate scholarships from both the national and county governments.
“That is why we have CDF bursaries, and we have agreed to have a framework so that even the county government can issue bursaries so that more children can go to school,” he said.

Ruto congratulated the students for getting g the opportunity to study at Ngong Girls.
He also asked the parents to keep praying for their children so that they can succeed in life.
Besides, Ruto said he will create time and visit the students once they start learning.
“I am very proud to have more daughters. I already have four daughters in my home, and now I have another 210. This is good.”

Ruto Praises Jalang’o
He congratulated Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o for allowing students from across Nairobi City County to benefit from the opportunity.
“Thank you, Jalang’o, you were not selfish because you could have limited the opportunities to Lang’ata students only. I talked to him, and he agreed that we should open this school to the whole of Nairobi.
“That is what leadership is, having a big heart and being able to accommodate more people.”
