Sameer Africa has announced the appointment of Victoria Cherotich as the new company secretary.
In a statement, the Board of Directors of Sameer Africa Plc announced that Victoria will assume the position effective 1st July 2024.
“Pursuant to the provisions of the Thirteenth Schedule of the Capital Markets (Public offers, Listings and Disclosures) Regulations, 2023, the Board of Directors of Sameer Africa Plc (the “Company”) is pleased to announce the appointment of Ms. Victoria Cherotich as the Company Secretary of Sameer Africa Plc with effect from 1st July 2024,” the statement read.
Ms. Cherotich has been working as the Chief Executive Officer of Image Registrars Limited.
She holds certification as a Secretary from the Institute of Certified Secretaries (ICS) and is an ICS Accredited Governance Auditor and a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Ms. Cherotich has over ten years of experience in Company Secretarial Services, Securities Registration and Governance Advisory Services.
She served at Image Registrars limited from February 2006 where she started as an auditor.
However, she rose to operations and company secretarial services in 2011 and later to director and company secretary in 2017.
Prior to her new role as Sameer’s company secretary, Victoria served as the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) as of April 2023.

Education Background
Victoria’s tertiary education began at Strathmore University where she studied and completed her CPA, Accounting in 2006.
She later proceeded to University of Nairobi where she did her Bachelor of Arts Economics and sociology and completed in 2010.
Between the period 2012 to 2013, Victoria graduated as a certified public secretary under the body KASNEB.
Later in 2017, she proceeded to University of Nairobi where she obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA).
Ms. Cherotich holds a Master of Business Administration (MBA), Strategic Management from the University of Nairobi. 2017-2018

Sameer Africa Outgoing Secretary
Cherotich will succeed Mrs. Mercy Mbijiwe, who according to the company, served diligently and professionally as Company Secretary during her tenure.
The Sameer Africa Board extended its appreciation to Mrs. Mbijiwe and wished her the best in her retirement and future endeavors.
Additionally, it congratulated Ms. Cherotich on her appointment and warmly welcomed her to the company.
