The Executive Office of the President, State House, has announced public auction of motor vehicles, tyres and other items.
In a public notice on Tuesday, May 28, State House invited interested bidders to take part in the public auction scheduled for June 14, 2024.
“The Executive Office of the President State House intends to sell by public auction unserviceable motor vehicles, tyres, car batteries and rims and assorted items. The Auction will take place on 14th June 2024 starting at 10:00 am at State Department for Roads, Ruiru,” the notice read in part.
The prospective bidders are required to pay a refundable deposit of Ksh50,000 payable in form of cash at cash office, executive office of the President, State House in Nairobi during normal working hours.

“Interested bidders may obtain further information by visiting www.tenders. go.ke and www.president.go.ke to download a catalogue containing details of venue, items to be auctioned, conditions of sale and date of viewing,” added the notice.
State House Appointed Auctioneer and Consultation
State House said the appointed auctioneer is Astorion Auctioneers of P.O. BOX 33340- 00600 Nairobi and telephone numbers 0720797118 and 0721963927.
Further clarification on the public auction may be sought from the Astorion’s contacts or by contacting Comptroller of State Houses via mobile number 07202441261 or by writing to P.O BOX 40530-00100, Nairobi.
Kenya Airports Authority Vehicle Auction
Besides, the Kenya Airports Authority (KAA) invited interested bidders of public auction of obsolete and unserviceable items.
The items under auction include used furniture and seats, scrap metals, used fire extinguisher cylinders, general electro-mechanical parts, general building hardware materials and used motor vehicles.
Items can be viewed at KAA headquarters, Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, Wilson Airport, Wajir Airport, Kisumu International Airport, Lokichoggio Airport, Kabunde Airport, Kakamega Airport, Moi International Airport, Malindi Airport and Ukunda Airstrip.

“Download the Catalogue containing details of items earmarked for disposal from Kenya Airports Authority Website www.koa.go.ke/corporate/procurement/tenders free-no charges,” KAA said.
Bidders can view the items between 29th and 31st May during working hours while the auction will be conducted in different venues from 3rf to 10th June at 10am.
The Auction will be conducted at KAA Headquarters on June 3, Wilson Airport on June 4, Kisumu International Airport on June 6 and Moi Internation Airport on June 10.

Interested purchasers will be required to pay a deposit of Ksh25,000.00 per lot or item on auction.
KAA explained that the bidder will be refunded the difference between the bid price and the deposit amount on presentation of the receipt if the bid price is lower than the deposit price.
However, where the bid price is higher than the deposit, the bidder will need to pay not less than 25% of the total value.
The Balance must be paid within 24 Hours failure to which the award will be cancelled, and the deposit forfeited, and the item sold to the second highest bidder.
