Teenage Girl Kills Cousin During a Fight

A family is in grief after a fight between teenagers in Narok County resulted in the death of one of them. According to the Directorate of Criminal Investigations (DCI), the teenagers were both girls, and one of them stabbed the other after an argument.

DCI said the two were cousins from Fanaka Estate in Narok Central.

The suspect, 17 years old, stabbed her 16-year-old cousin, who later succumbed to injuries that caused excessive bleeding.

The incident was reported at Narok Police Station on December 22, 2024.

“A family feud between two juvenile cousins culminated in the tragic death of one, after she was stabbed in an incident reported at Narok Police Station,” DCI said.

“The deceased, a 16-year-old girl who hails from Fanaka estate of Narok Central died of profuse bleeding, inflicted on her by her 17-year-old first cousin (female) after a heated argument.”

Neighbours who did not expect the sudden turn of events rushed to stop the fight.

However, they were too late to save the victim, who was pronounced dead on arrival at Narok County Referral Hospital.

The girl implicated in the unfortunate killing has been placed in custody pending arraignment on Monday, December 23.

Meanwhile, police are probing the cause of the fight preceding the death.

DCI Festive Season Warning

DCI issued a warning to members of the public as the festive season gains traction.

In a statement on December 20, the Investigative Agency encouraged Kenyans flocking various drinking joints to remain alert.

The DCI stated that not every reveller in joints is up to something good.

Additionally, DCI said cases of drugging by way of spiking frothy waters are on the rise during this festive season.

How the Lady Escapes

DCI published CCTV footage showing how a lady stole valuables from some holidaymaker at a Diani hotel.

The Agency said the victim visited a popular joint where and left for his hotel room in the company of the lady he had met at the joint.

In the clip, the lady is captured leaving the hotel room some minutes before noon, having stolen two mobile phones, a watch and ATM cards of the helpless victim.

She later swept clean the victim’s bank accounts before switching off his phones.

Detectives are pursuing the lady to ensure that she accounts for her offence.
