At 23 years old Kenyan, Tracy Mureithi stands out as one of the youngest realtors in Toronto, having sold over 40 houses in the city.
Speaking during an interview with Chams Media’s Daring Abroad, Tracy narrated her journey from Kenya to Canada, stating that it is one of resilience and ambition.
Her passion for real estate was sparked in her childhood, inspired by Kenyan television shows. However, her entrepreneurial spirit was nurtured by her father, a successful entrepreneur in Nyahururu.
He runs a construction business, farms, and owns a fleet of matatus. According to Tracy, her father made her believe that she could carve her own career path.
“My dad is also an entrepreneur, he does construction, and farming and also owns a fleet of matatus in Nyahururu,” she said.

University and High School Education
In 2019, Tracy moved to Canada to study Business Technology Management at Toronto Metropolitan University.
While studying, she learned of the opportunity to obtain her realtor’s license and began the journey of education and entrepreneurship.
Now, she has completed her degree and runs her own real estate business.
“I decided to pursue both a degree and real estate at the same time, so I got my license to be a realtor.
“I am at house number 42 within Toronto and adjacent areas. I have managed to succeed despite the competition around by being myself and growing my brand through marketing,” she said.
However, before moving to Canada, she was an international accounting student at Strathmore University.
Also, she revealed that she went to Kenya High School for her high school education.
“I went to The Kenya High School in Kileleshwa and went to Strathmore to pursue International accounting, but I moved to Canada before completing my Strathmore education.
“I came here to study business technology management at Toronto Metropolitan University in 2019 and I completed this year.”

Explains Tracy How She Intended to Inspire Kenyans
At the same time, Tracy noted that her mission goes beyond personal success as she aims to empower others to invest wisely and build wealth.
She has through her work been able to advise different clients on how to invest and grow their wealth.
“I started my business three years ago because I wanted to be the person to spearhead our community into owning real estate in Canada and Kenya too.
“I wanted to teach them how to invest and where to put their money to make it grow and change my community. I was also looking for a business to get into, so I took a risk,” explained the relator.
Although she has had great success, she said that she was met with many challenges including racism and figuring out her niche.
“It was challenging to figure out my niche and also because we are predominantly in a white country, there are people who don’t work with me because I am black.”
