The County Government of Turkana has asked qualified and interested candidates to apply for the over 50 public service positions, ranging from medical specialists to youth polytechnic instructors and revenue accountants.
In an advertisement published by the Turkana County Public Service Board, qualified and competent individuals are invited to apply for various roles, some on a local contract basis and others on permanent and pensionable terms.
The new round of recruitment seeks to plug gaps in critical service areas such as health, vocational training, revenue collection, and journalism.
Among the top medical roles advertised are posts for a radiologist, orthopedic surgeon, general physician, and oncologist. These four positions are on a local contract.

The largest number of vacancies are for the position of Assistant Public Health Officer III; a permanent and pensionable role aimed at strengthening public health services at the grassroots level.

Also included are 18 positions for Youth Polytechnic Instructors across different technical and vocational disciplines.
These include carpentry, plumbing, welding, ICT, hairdressing, fashion design, food processing, electrical, and motor vehicle technology, among others.
For those in the communication and finance fields, the county is hiring two photojournalists, four accountants (both I and II levels), and a cartography assistant. An additional three slots are available for Assistant Animal Health Officers.

How to Apply
Interested candidates are required to submit written applications, along with CVs, academic certificates, testimonials, and identification documents in sealed envelopes.

Applications must be addressed to the Secretary of the Turkana County Public Service Board and delivered to their offices in Lodwar by Tuesday, August 5, 2025, at 5:00 PM EAT.
The job descriptions and specific requirements can be accessed on the county’s official website, (http://www.turkana.go.ke), or (http://www.psb.turkana.go.ke).
The county stated that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
It also cautioned that any form of canvassing will result in automatic disqualification.
The Public Service Board encouraged applications from youth, women, and persons living with disabilities (PWDs), in line with the county’s inclusive employment policy.
