United States Special Envoy Steve Witkoff has recently revealed how Iran openly bragged about having in their possession enriched Uranium.
Witkoff’s revelation emerged from the 2025-2026 US-Iran nuclear negotiations initiated by Donald Trump.
President Donald Trump’s negotiations were delayed by the attacks on the Iranian enrichment sites during the US-Israeli airstrikes on February 28, 2026.
According to Witkoff, Iranian negotiators publicly bragged of having enough enriched uranium to build 11 nuclear bombs.
During the meeting, the negotiators stated that the Uranium they had was the Iran-negotiation starting stance.
“At the first meeting, both Iranian negotiators told us directly that they control 460 kg of 60% enriched uranium and know that it can be used to produce 11 nuclear bombs, and that was the starting point of their negotiation position. They were proud that they had evaded all kinds of monitoring protocols to reach this level,” Witkoff stated.
Witkoff stated that 20% of the Uranium can be weaponized within three to four weeks.
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Report
A report by the Vienna-based International Atomic Energy Agency said that as of June 13, Iran had 440.9 kilograms (972 pounds) of uranium enriched to 60%.
The amount had increased by 32.3 kilograms (71.2 pounds) since the last report by the IAEA on Iran’s uranium enrichment in May.
According to the IAEA, approximately 42 kilograms of 60% enriched uranium is theoretically enough to produce one atomic bomb, if enriched further to 90%.
However, Iran’s Foreign Minister, Abbas Araghchi, stated that Iran will under no circumstances ever develop a nuclear weapon in a statement issued on Wednesday, February 25.
Abbas highly condemned the US for demanding that Iran have zero nuclear weapons in their possession.

Trump Accuses Iran of Nuclear Ambitions
During his State of the Union Address on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump accused Iran of plotting to create nuclear weapons.
“They have already developed weapons that can threaten Europe and our bases overseas, and they are working to build missiles that will soon reach the United States of America,” Trump stated.
Trump had boasted previously of how the US strikes had been aimed at destroying Iran’s nuclear program.

Iran as a Threat in the US- Israeli War
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has defended the ongoing U.S.-Israel strike on Iran.
According to Netanyahu, attacks on Iran are necessary to ensure that Iran does not develop nuclear weapons and missiles.
Netanyahu further stated that Iran had an objective of destroying the US and is more powerful than “50 North Koreas”.
Iran poses a greater threat to the US than Korea, according to Netanyahu.
He emphasized that the attacks on Iran were only designed to prevent Iran from unleashing nuclear attacks on America or Israel and their bases.
Additionally, Israeli military spokesperson Avichay Adraee said that the Israeli military will not allow Iran to activate systems intended to target its aircraft and will continue striking.
