Trump’s promise to sign an executive order mandating the death penalty for convicted cop killers dates back to December 2015 when he was campaigning for his first term.
In 2018, he again expressed his support for a mandatory death penalty during a memorial service of a slain NYPD officer Miosotis Familia.
